Bearish Long PUT Strategy with Credit Spreads

The is a vertical PUT spreads strategy (credit spreads) with the same expiry date.

Bearish long put strategy is not applicable when sideway trend market. It is very good to apply when the market is down trend so instead of doing a naked buy put position to cater for downtrend, we can also earn premium by selling put.

Must consider the maximum price of BTC can go in general when bearish is happening, Sell Put at the higher strike price where you think the maximum price of BTC. Sell put when IV is low.

Well, Buy Put (IV is high) at a lower strike price with 2 lots whereby the total cost must be less than the premium collected from the Sell Put just now. As the result, when the price goes up, we can still collect and earn from the outstanding premium amount.

When the price come down to zero, DGM can earn from the buy put position before the expiry date. The risk and reward ratio is the greatest because when the price is up we earn from the premium but when the price is down we earn from the bearish market.

Conclusion, max loss is $374 and the max profit is $626. Well…..What do you think? I think it is fine with 1 to 2 Risks and Rewards ratio.

What are the rules can be applied moving forward in 2022?

To buy call when bullish in options trading and to buy put when it is bearish because in options versus futures trading, you do not have to pay for the funding rates which can cost a lots when the holding period is too long in futures, which is more than 6 months for example when you don’t know how to trade with funding rates and earn interest. In options trading is more cost efficient and cost effective. Options is best when you do short term trading and not long term investment. Futures is best for short and medium term trading and also not for long term investment.

Would like to start with bearish strategies first because the current market is in bear mode. When it is bearish market, DGM can buy put with expiry date that is based on the support and resistance lines at 4hr. Follow by sell put for a week expiration so that we can trade multiple sell put trades whenever it is possible for us.

Conclusion, max loss is $158 and max profit is $1342 USD. Good?

Well the bullish strategies is opposite of the bearish, DGM can buy call with expiry date that is based on the support and resistance lines at 4hr. Follow by sell call for a week expiration.

Conclusion, max loss is $76 and max profit is $1924 USD. Good?

DGM does not prefer vertical spreads or credit spreads on the same expiry date.

When it is bearish, DGM can keep USDC or USDT. When it is bullish, DGM can keep BTC, ETH, SOL, or MATIC for the purpose of staking them. DGM is buying ETH/BTC pair when it is bullish market and selling the same pair to BTC or USDC/USDT when it is bearish or sideway trends. Auto grid bots can also be applied when we have sideway trends.

What is the Hash Ribbons Indicator?

The Bitcoin Hash Ribbon indicator tries to identify periods where Bitcoin miners are in distress and may be capitulating. The assumption is that such periods can occur when the price of $BTC is at major lows, and may therefore present a good opportunity to buy the dip.

The role of miners is to secure the Bitcoin network and to process every Bitcoin transaction. There can be periods after the price of bitcoin rallied and then aggressively pulled back that some miners struggle to financially continue in the short term. When this happens they turn off their mining rigs.

As the author of this indicator Charles Edwards states in his article Hash Ribbons & Bitcoin Bottoms, “When miners give up, it is possibly the most powerful Bitcoin buy signal ever”.

This indicator does not try to time the perfect bottom in price. Rather it shows periods where Bitcoin mining rigs are being turned off due to the challenging market conditions, causing drops in hash rates. These can often be areas of macro bottoms in Bitcoin price.

Yesterday is the anchor for today, and the last moment is the anchor for the next.

For example, the first month, the inflation index is 8, the second month is 9, because the anchor point is 8, so pessimistic.

For another example, at the moment, the price of Bitcoin is at 24K.

Always start with Sell Put option to gain passive income and at the time waiting to buy the BTC that DGM would like to hold for a long time. Will see two results, either earning premium every week or buy the BTC at the cheaper price by selling PUT.

Usually DGM is deploying Sell Put with the support of Buying Call position when the price is over sold for BTC or ETH. Finally, will cover most of the trades with Sell Call with bull call spread strategies. Bear put spread can be used when the market turns into extremely bearish.

When the price is over bought, DGM will execute Buy Put strategies to follow the bearish trends. Otherwise I will do credit spread top strategies when bearish market with bear call spread, Sell Call at a higher price and Buy Call at a lower price when moderately bearish. Alternatively for bullish market which can do bull put spread, Sell Put at a higher price and Buy Put at a lower price when mederately bullish.
